I am a photographer, visual researcher, and creative educator based in Hove. For over twenty years, my work has occupied the space where fine art and long-form documentary practice meet. Guided by the principles of the "Slow Movement," I use deliberate, immersive visual journalism to look beneath the surface of communities and explore the complex layers of national identity, shifting social structures, and unique environments.

My journey into professional photography began with a definitive milestone when I became the youngest photographer to have a collection of work—my series "Keeping Faith"—acquired for the permanent collection of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. Since then, my practice has taken me around the world, with exhibitions spanning the UK, the US, Australia, and Japan.

My long-form project Witness Objects—which explores conflict archaeology by temporarily converting wartime artifacts like military helmets and ration cans from the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina into active pinhole cameras—stands as a key milestone in contemporary visual peace research. The project earned widespread international recognition through the Sony World Photography Awards, culminating in the 2021 flagship exhibition curated for Somerset House, London (staged as a digital showcase due to national lockdowns). It was subsequently selected for the global Imaging Peace research cohort, culminating in its showcase and analysis within the landmark 2025 textbook publication, Peace Photography: A Guide. Most recently, my contemporary pieces have been chosen to stand in conversation with Albert Kahn’s legendary Archives of the Planet in the upcoming major international exhibition, Choosing Peace: The Struggle of Albert Kahn (1860-1940), running from October 13, 2026, to June 13, 2027, at the Musée Départemental Albert-Kahn in Boulogne, France.

Parallel to my personal practice, I am deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of artists, designers, and visual storytellers. I hold an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography, and I currently serve as a Curriculum Leader on the Pre-degree: Online programme at University of the Arts London (UAL), where I design and lead innovative online curricula. Bridging the gap between academic theory and active industry reality is central to my philosophy. Over the last two decades, I have been privileged to work in creative education, delivering lectures and specialised workshops for institutions including the Victoria & Albert Museum, Stills Gallery, Photofusion, the National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh College of Art, and Napier University.

Whether in the field with a camera or in the digital classroom with my students, my goal remains the same: to use the power of creativity to foster a deeper understanding of our shared world and our relationship to one another.
